Know Your Coffee: Edinson Argote - Orange Bourbon - Advanced Washed

Orange Bourbon is a variation of the Bourbon Cultivar that ripens to a vibrant orange color instead of the common burgundy. The tropical mantra of this coffee is due, in part, to its variety as well as its unique processing method. This traditional washed coffee comes with a bit of a twist; using innovative techniques such as “thermal shock” which utilizes a bioreactor, as well as a “re-stabilization” experiment during the fermentation process. The result definitively transcends what typical washed coffees are capable of. Familiar flavors that remind us of pink Starbursts in nostalgic memory, orange marmalade from the Farmer’s Market & soft florals that fill the springtime air.
